In collaboration with the Fundación para la Investigación Biomédica de Córdoba (FIBICO), Viromii carried out a project to drive the technology transfer of the TTPharmacy software, a tool designed to optimize the management and traceability of medicines in hospital pharmacies.
Our work included a market analysis, Freedom to Operate (FTO) studies, and the definition of a transfer strategy. In addition, we identified, contacted, and organized bilateral meetings with companies interested in the technology.
This effort culminated in the licensing of the software to a Spanish company specialized in solutions for public hospitals. As a result of this license, work is underway to implement the software in hospital pharmacies across different hospitals within the National Health System of Spain, improving the efficiency of the pharmaceutical service.
This case highlights how technology transfer actions towards companies can bring innovative technologies to the market, benefiting both public health institutions and, ultimately, patients.
