Company in an internalization process, searching for the best markets for their technology. It was required to evaluate the Swedish market for this specific technology, in order to identify risks and opportunities and decide if entering the market or not.

Steps we took

First, an overview of the Swedish water market was performed, including market size and trends, infrastructure status, water management model, governance, cultural barriers, etc.

Then, the main actors were mapped and described, among others this included public and private water management companies, innovation organisations and institutions, potential competitors and partners.

The most relevant actors identified before were analyzed in detail.

Finally, the public procurement model in Sweden was studied, as one of the take away was that they would need to sell through this mechanism.

Results

The results, including risks, opportunities and next steps to enter the Swedish market, were presented to the company, who is still in the process of deciding if entering the market or not.
