IPMWise: SAD tool for weed control

The intensive use of authorized herbicides has increased weed resistance, making them more difficult to control.

IPMWise offers a practical and effective solution to optimize herbicide management, making it possible to reduce associated costs and aligning with the objectives of precision agriculture.

The tool has +20 arable crops registered, and in 2025 it will also include crops such as olive, nuts and citrus.

Researchers from the Malherbología group at the Universitat de Lleida (UdL) have developed IPMWise, a tool that makes it possible to optimize herbicide use by calculating efficacy in susceptible and resistant biotypes, the minimum dose required, and classification by cost or individualized use, based on data entered by the user (crop, phenology, weed species, treatment conditions and resistance-prevention preferences).

In addition, it offers functionalities to estimate the efficacy of herbicide mixtures, analyze efficacy profiles by dose and cross-visualize the expected efficacy in different crops and combinations.

It is designed to support advisers in decision-making and is aligned with the objectives of precision agriculture.
