The inclusion of Lengua de Signos Española (LSE) in Spain faces significant challenges, especially in technological and social accessibility. There is currently no sign language translator similar to voice translators for spoken languages. The available technological solutions are very limited and usually work with isolated signs and in very specific areas, which limits their ability to interpret complete sentences or continuous discourse. The evolution towards sentence comprehension is taking place through IA, but this requires recording thousands of sentences that capture the variability of signs and constructions in the application environment where a translation solution is to be deployed.
The aim is to develop an interactive multiplatform application in collaboration with the deaf community, designed to facilitate the development of applications in specific contexts, allowing signs and sentences to be recorded online to develop translators that can be deployed in that context. Its main objective is to provide a tool that facilitates communication between deaf and hearing people in environments where they face communication barriers.
This solution arose from the SignaMed project and the SignaSalud project, focused on the medical field. The latter is being developed as a proof of concept for care in the emergency department of Hospital Álvaro Cunqueiro de Vigo and is in its final phase. Work is underway so that the platform can be implemented in institutions and in the private sector at national level, to guarantee accessibility, improve communication and promote the inclusion of deaf people in different environments.

The main objective of the contact is to establish connections with potential end users of the application, both in the public and private sectors, so that as much feedback as possible can be collected. In the future, these could incorporate this tool into their activities in a way that facilitates communication between people with hearing disabilities and hearing people, offering a more efficient and satisfactory service for all parties involved.
