Viromii collaborated with the Fundación de Investigación del Hospital General Universitario de Valencia (FIHGUV) and the Instituto de Robótica y de Tecnologías de la Información y de las Comunicaciones (IRTIC) of the Universitat de València in promoting an innovative robotic-surgery assistance solution. Led by the Obstetrics and Gynecology Unit, this technology is aimed at optimizing operating room resources, reducing the need for specialized staff, and enabling parallel procedures, especially in laparoscopic interventions.
These tools not only represent a care-related advance in gynecology, but can also be extended to other surgical specialties. Viromii’s involvement made it possible to hold multiple meetings with national technology companies, mainly in medical technology and robotic surgery, as well as robotics and automation in general. Thanks to this work, a transfer agreement was reached with Bumerania, a company specialized in robotics and artificial intelligence applied to the healthcare sector. Currently, public funding is being explored to consolidate development and move forward toward the commercialization of this solution.
This case shows how strategic collaboration can position the Valencian Community as a benchmark in cutting-edge robotic surgery.
